Software evaluates hundreds of thousands of opinions and news articles every day and shows at a glance, how much and in what kind of mood people discuss about financial markets. Using latest Big Data technology, communication on stocks, indices, commodities, currency pairs and major market events is monitored and evaluated in real-time 24/7. Moreover, the software automatically generates buy and sell signals for different asset classes. By now, the database of StockPulse contains historical data of more than six years, enabling comprehensive backtestings. The software and trading models created by StockPulse were reviewed and confirmed by independent scientific studies.

Stefan Nann and Jonas Krauss founded StockPulse in 2011 after finishing their studies in Business Information Systems at University of Cologne and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with focus on the analysis of communication in social networks. Their academic work, for example, comprised a study in the field of collective intelligence where nine out of ten Oscar winners were predicted correctly almost half a year in advance by evaluating the communication in movie forums. Today, the team consists of experts with 10+ years of expertise in financial markets, programming, and business development.

Web crawlers are constantly searching and scraping hundreds of different internet sources for relevant financial topics and communication. Crawlers collect tweets, message board posts, news articles, and comments to news articles. Further, we collect and maintain all relevant persons/insiders of stock market listed companies and how they are related in the news.
